Left bird:
Really? Yummy! Love food. What kind of food is it?

Right bird:
Maybe meat!

Left bird:
I don’t eat meat my friend. Vegie only for me… cuz I’m a meditated bird.

Right bird:
Well, we could go there. While I eat, you could meditate. How that’s sound?

Left bird:
Ok buddy, I will go with you. But don’t let those meat near me.

Right bird:
Alrighty then.. Let’s fly away. Food, here I come!

Hey Buddy, I think no one is at home.

Left bird:
Good.. Good… So I don’t have to deal with those meat.

Right bird:
What kind of bird are you for not eating meat?

Left bird:
I’m a Zen bird. You could call me Zen Birdie.

Right bird:
Alright Zen Birdie, tell me how would you meditate?

Left bird:
First, I would stand on a tree, close my eye, and then
“Breath in I know I’m on the tree”
“Breath out I still know I’m on the tree”

Right bird:
What are you talking about? You are on the tree!

Left bird:
I’m aware of it. That’s called Zen, dear.

Right bird:
Almighty Zen Birdie, could you mediate for the door to be open
so I could come in and eat my meat?

Left bird (roll its eye):
Zen birds do not eat meat!

Part 1: Training

Right bird:
Hey Friend. Do you want see my stick Chi Gong moves?

Left bird:
What is that? Never heard of it.

Right bird:
It’s techniques that help keep birds in good health for both the body and the mind.

Left bird:
Oh yeah, who taught you?

Right bird:
I learned yesterday standing outside by the window of a temple.

Left bird:
Ah.. I see. Go ahead show me what you got.

Right bird:
First breathe in slowly. Then lift up the stick with both wings. Next breathe out and bring the stick down. Repeat that 1000 times!

Left bird:
Why so much?

Right bird:
Do you see me? No pain, no gain Buddy.

***

Part 2: Practice Practice

Right bird:
My Friend. Did you get the technique down?

Left bird:
Practicing like this, I’ll be dying soon.

Right bird:
Come on buddy, don’t be a chicken. We are birds!
“You can do it, if you put your wings into it!”

Left bird:
I’ve already put everything in, including all of my feathers.

Right bird:
Come again?

Left bird:
Nothing… I was just saying
“I can do it, if I put my wings into it!”

Right bird:
Excellent! May the wind be with you.
